INTURN is the first marketplace to help brands efficiently sell their excess inventory to retailers. We are a venture backed NYC start-up addressing a complex section of the retail industry. 

Job Summary:

The Director of business development is responsible for driving strategy, execution, and performance for both the buyer and brand networks. You will collaborate with the client success team to ensure INTURN clients are receiving a seamless experience with the platform.  You will provide strong leadership coaching and grow a business development team that exceeds expectations in sales, account management, and relationship building.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of customer-facing experience, preferably in the retail, wholesale, and off-price markets and 5+ years experience in a leadership role managing business sales
  • Thorough knowledge of retailers' strategies and execution (how they buy, when they buy, etc.)
  • Strong network with off-price and specialty retailers and brands in the apparel/fashion industry is a must
  • Strong strategic and technology skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to develop and leverage strong business relationships and business acumen


  • BA/BS is required
  • Advanced degree is a plus


  • Lead a team thats works in a mixed environment, both qualitative and quantitative, and grow the company’s pipeline both domestically and internationally
  • Responsible for discovering opportunities and improving our business outreach and sales processes
  • Promote teamwork between Client Success Teams and Business Development Teams
  • Work closely with INTURN’s executive team to achieve overall market goals
  • Provide feedback both to your team and product leaders to ensure our clients are receiving the best product.
